BRENDAN BERNE

Brendan Berne has extensive experience in international business law acquired over 15 years of practice in the United States and France. Mr. Berne routinely represents international clients before the civil, commercial and appeals courts of France and consults on matters pertaining to e-commerce and internet law, data privacy protection and intellectual property.

Prior to forming Segal Gebski & Berne, Mr. Berne was a founding partner of the Piton Gillespie Berne law firm and counsel to the law firms Artus Wise Partners, Pardo Boulanger and SGDM.

Mr. Berne also serves as an adjunct professor of international business law at the Institute d’Etudes des Relations Internationales (ILERI).

M. Berne is an active member of a number of professional and service associations.

Mr. Berne served for five years as a board member of the French-American Bar Association (FABA) as well as chairman of the international litigation and the vice-chairman of the privacy, e-commerce and data security committees at the American Bar Association (ABA) for two years. Mr. Berne currently co-chairs the ABA Paris City Chapter.

In 2017, Mr. Berne was also recruited to serve as a board member of the Comité Paris- Chicago (the official French branch of the Chicago-Paris inter-city accord), and on the University of Chicago Alumni Service Committee for admissions to The College.
